Road trips in USA are the best way you have to explore the country during the weekend.
The truth is that USA is a country where everything seems to be wildly spread. Therefore, the ideal thing would be to take a plane everyweekend. However, it is an option not always afforable for every one. On the other hand I found that the roads are usually in a good shape. They are wide roads and very straight, so easy to drive on.
Here in the States everyone seems used to travel long distances for a weekend road trip. Another reason for this is that gas so cheap compared to Spain.
Last weekend we went to Savannah in a road trip. From Asheville it takes 4 hours and 30 min. which makes it perfect for a weekend.
Savannah is located in the state of Georgia. It is a charming city by the coast. The temperature is high in the summer and very humid. It is the perfect environment for the biggest mosquitos I have had to deal with. Ha ha ha. However, the trip was totally worthy.
It also happens to be one of the chosen scenarios for the filming of the Forrest Gump movie!
