How is it going? Today I want to share with you one of my favorites places here in L.A.
Venice Beach is one of the most popular places to visit in LA, and for a good reason! Before come here, I had heard about it : the beach, the street art…, but now that I have the opportunity to live it, I need to tell you that a day in Venice is amazing!
I specially love going there on Sundays; go to the beach at the morning and relax there… at this time of the year the weather is perfect, because is good but not too warm. I also like go to the rocks and see the tiger mussels, the curious seaweed, the amount of little colored shells that are in the sand next to the water…
Once you are there, you need to spend some time watching the skaters; they spend their hours there practicing and demonstrating skills while the curious (as me) we come to see. It’s amazing!
This neighborhood is known by its murals ands graffities on the walls; everything is colourful, cheerful and related with the arts. You can see all kind of street artist.
Beside this, a worthwhile visit is walk through the canals. There were built at the beginning of the XX century, in the likeness of the canals of Venice, Italy; the main difference is that these are artificial, but it’s a very nice an peaceful zone, with really beautiful houses, and only 3 streets far from the beach; you can walk throught the main canal, cross the cute bridges… a very recommendable walk .
Just to finish the day, I recomend you go to Abbot Kineey Street. This is one of the coolest streets in LA and it’s full of great and cool restaurants, shooping and stellar cocktails. All the facades and the shop windows are painted really nice. So you just need to walk through the street and when you are hungry, chose one of the restaurants that are there to eat something really good! ( I have to say that is not easy chose only one of them!). Abbot Kinney Blvd never fails to intrigue, amuse and delight you.
So if anyone come to LA and want to live something really cool, a day spent at Venice Beach is always a good time!
