Stormking Art Center

Last Sunday I went to Stormking Art Center. It’s an open-air sculpture museum created in 1960’s. Land Art and Site Specific sculptures stay on green meadows surrounded by forrests of Stormking National State Park.

In this Art Center one can find pieces by Calder, Serra, Sol Lewitt, Louise Bougeois and Mark di Suvero, among other artists. More than 150 carefully sited sculptures in a beautiful landscape.
The visit takes around 4 hours and you should bring your picnic with you. I went there by bus from Port Authority Terminal. There is only one bus a day at 10 pm during the weekend and the journey takes 2 hours. The return bus departs at 5 pm, so you have time enough to enjoy the visit. Even so, drive your own car would be the best option. The Art Center closes from November to March and Fall is the best season to visit it, while leaves remain multicolored.
