The Clark Art Institute has unveiled the design for its new expansion in Massachusetts, a project by Selldorf Architects that will connect the museum with the Manton Research Center. The intervention will introduce new galleries, art storage areas and a landscape design by Reed Hilderbrand integrated into the natural surroundings of the Berkshires.
The new Aso O. Tavitian Wing will permanently house a major collection of European art and add twelve single-level galleries. The project will strengthen the relationship between art, architecture and landscape while expanding the exhibition and academic capacity of one of the region’s leading cultural institutions.
