Populous has unveiled the first images of the Los Angeles Convention Center expansion, coinciding with the official start of construction. The project will connect the two main wings of the complex with a new building that will extend over Pico Boulevard, seamlessly integrating the existing pavilions. The structure, with its straight lines and curved roof, will bring a new dynamism to the downtown skyline.
The expansion will add more than 17,000 square meters of exhibition space and a large 9,000-square-meter ballroom on the roof. Interior visualizations reveal a central atrium bathed in natural light thanks to a large skylight, with white mezzanines that reinforce the feeling of spaciousness and modernity.
