LOHA Architecture Studio has transformed a forgotten strip of land in South Los Angeles into Isla Intersections, an innovative housing complex for formerly homeless people. Using stacked shipping containers, the project occupies a triangular site between freeways and offers a bold architectural solution in a dense and complex urban environment.
With 54 supportive housing units spread over 3,252 square meters, the complex includes gardens, job training spaces and creative programming areas. Isla Intersections provides not only a roof over your head, but also opportunities, with architecture that responds with sensitivity and functionality to one of the city’s most pressing social crises.
