It’s hard to believe that my internship at Smith + Gill is almost over! The experience has been truly incredible, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity. From the very first day, I was welcomed into the team and given the chance to work on a variety of tasks and projects that really helped me grow both personally and professionally. I’ve learned so much about the architectural field, gaining exposure to everything from design concepts to client presentations. Every day has offered a new challenge, and I’ve loved being involved in such dynamic work. The team at Smith + Gill is incredibly supportive, and I’ve always felt like my contributions were valued.
One of the biggest highlights of my internship was participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with my dad. It was such a fun and memorable experience that I’ll cherish for a long time. We watched the river being dyed green, an iconic tradition that was a sight to see. The parades were full of energy and excitement, with vibrant floats and lively crowds lining the streets. Afterward, we explored the local nightlife and participated in some of the local events. It was such a unique way to connect with the community, and it made me feel even more connected to the city.
Looking back on my time at Smith + Gill, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such a positive and enriching internship experience. I’ve not only learned about architecture but also gained a deeper understanding of how to work effectively within a team. As I prepare to wrap up this chapter, I am excited to take everything I’ve learned and apply it to future opportunities! I am excited to return to Toronto to be with my family once again and finish up my education at Toronto Metropolitan University.
