FIRST PROJECT IN REVIT
Hi, my name is Kseniia Shevchenko! It’s been a month since I arrived in the US and started working for Kellogg Architects Inc. in San Francisco. During this time, I’ve already worked on an interior design project, a home remodeling project, and am currently working on a new home project in Revit, located at 56 Laussat St. I also went to the site and talked with customer. I am learning every day. Thank you Architect-US for this opportunity. This project was my first step to learn how to create drawings in Revit program. I modeled this house and made all of the drawings: elevations, sections, plans. It was good practice for me to learn how to use «Model in place» in Revit program to create the details of elevations for surrounding historical buildings.
ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO CITY
It was my second time in this city. I have been there before like a tourist. San Francisco unique city. You never find something like this somewhere else. The history of the Victorian style architecture began in England during the reign of Queen Victoria between 1837 and 1901. San Francisco was one of the first major U.S. cities to emulate this style of architecture, with an estimated 40,000 Victorian homes built in the city between 1850 and 1900. With most of them destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, it is a true treat to see the ones that are still standing today. Maybe the most famous Victorian houses of San Francisco are the homes at Alamo Square, better known as “Postcard Row.” Also known as the Painted Ladies.
During this time I visited the Golden Gate, the Palace of Fine Arts, and the Fourth of July fireworks. Every day is a new adventure for me and I’m happy with everything that happens here. There a lot of things to do in SF on weekends, because it’s a big city with famous places. I trying to visit them as much as I can. For an architects its really important to explore the city and architecture.
