The Scottsdale Civic Plaza in Arizona has been transformed by U.S. firms Dig Studio and Lake Flato, combining restoration and sustainability. This iconic public space, located in the Old Town neighborhood, has been expanded and redesigned to integrate with the surrounding buildings.
The project included upgrading water fountains, reducing lawn areas and installing more efficient stormwater systems. In addition, an innovative fog plaza was created, saving 5.8 million gallons of water per year. An example of how urban design can adapt to today’s environmental needs.
