Summer is here with all its events!

In summer, the city that never sleeps is full of things to do!

In addition to the events that take place all year round, in summer New York offers you the chance to discover the city in a different way, free of charge, through various cultural events that punctuate the summer evenings. There’s lots to enjoy if you’re into cinéma, music or the arts! I’m only going to mention a few, as I haven’t been able to do them all. Summer’s not over yet!

There’s no shortage of open-air cinemas, whether it’s the Summer Film Festival in Bryant Park, the Paramount+ Movie night in the various Brooklyn parks including the Brooklyn Bridge Park or Cinemalic in Hunter’s Point Park.

If you’re more of a music fan, the SummerStage Festival offers concerts in Central Park, Harlem and Coney Island, as do the GMA Summer Concert Series and the Met Opera In The Park.
For theater fans, Shakespeare in the Park celebrates Shakespeare and other theater classics with performances this year at venues around the city. There’s no shortage of concerts and festivals on Little Island!

If you want a completely different experience – to enjoy a bit of nature while also exploring some of the architectural gems of Manhattan, go for a stroll at the High line! The old abandoned, elevated rail lines that use to run through the West side have been converted into a park! Only in New York can you find such a unique place.

And if you want to escape the city and enjoy the beach more cheaply, i.e. by subway, train or ferry, you can go to Cosney Island, Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Rockaway Beach, Long Island

If you’re more into nature and hiking, you can also take the train to the Catskills or Fire Island, although I’d recommend doing so in September, when temperatures are cooler.

There’s never a dull moment in New York in summer, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy it!
