Announced in 2021, Snøhetta has completed the redesign of the Blanton Museum of Art campus in Austin. The 18,580-square-foot project includes updated museum entrances, a central courtyard and landscaping for the museum.
The Blanton Museum of Art is located at the University of Texas (Austin) and encompasses two main buildings, the surrounding grounds and Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin Architectural Pavilion. The project has a central courtyard separating the two structures and where the main entrances are located and is located in line with an adjacent mall leading to the Texas State Capitol complex, which is currently under renovation.
