Designed by Format Architecture Office, a new store has opened in New York’s Meatpacking District.
The Leica store and gallery replaces an “ordinary” 1950s meat market building. With a cream-colored brick facade and two stories in height, the building is also one of the smallest remaining buildings and a rare exception to the trend of neighborhood expansion. The comprehensive renovation expanded the floor area to 372 square meters while retaining original features such as the wood-framed ceiling.
