Hi everyone!
After almost one year since I decided to apply to Architect-US I am finally starting my trainee program in San Diego.
My name is Juan Arredondo, a Spanish Architect graduated in 2019 from “Universidad Politécnica de Madrid”. During the last years, I have been jumping from one office to other; mainly small offices located in different countries as Chile, Portugal or Madrid. I wanted a change in my professional life and found in Architect-us a great opportunity.
I met them some years ago through their advertisements posted in the walls of my university. Although I always dreamed with the possibility to move to the United States, I never venture to become a member of their talent pool. Finally, in July 2022, I decided to start the process and, after some months, I got the offer from HMC Architects I finally accepted.
Since then, the Architect-US team has made really easy all the process to get my visa, they have helped me with everything. In fact, nearly my only task was to go to the USA embassy for an interview to get the visa approved; there they only asked me a few questions about personal information and my previous background. A few days later I already had my visa at home!
Right now, I find myself preparing everything for my departure; as excite about discovering California, and specially the Sunshine City, as frightened about such a huge change in my life. However, I am convinced, it is going to be a great opportunity to grow personal and professionally and expose myself and learn from a new culture, meet new people and improve my skills.
In some days I will start my adventure. See you in San Diego!
