Weekend Getaways

In my second month , I got the opportunity to go to Arizona for a day trip with my colleagues. Site visits supplement our comprehension of design and give us exposure to the techniques and methods involved in its execution. On our day trip , we visited 3 projects handled by our firm in phoenix and Scottsdale. We stopped by at the Queen’s Creek Olive Mills for lunch. I would highly recommend this place to visit because of it rustic interiors and amazing food. We flew back in the evening. It was infact a good learning experience.
I also visited LA on the last weekend. My trip started on Friday. I reached LA in the evening and started exploring the city right away. I went to the Chinese theatre and explored some nearby places. Then I hopped on a bus for the night tour of the city. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit all the famous landmarks of the city in 4 hours. It gave us the crux of the culture and background of the city. The next day I visited the hollyhock house designed by FL Wright. The house sits beautifully on a hilltop and is designed in an organic manner with free-flowing spaces and amalgamation of interiors with exteriors. It is a piece of art. I then proceeded to visit the first Sikh temple ( post independence ) in Hollywood. It is an elegant white building housing all the main elements of Sikh architecture. The temple evokes a sense of devotion with its tranquil aura.
From there a 40 min drive got me to The Venice beach. I watched the sunset and took a walk down the road by the shops. It was the perfect way to end my trip.
LA is young and lively. The city is open to endless possibilities and has a place for everyone.
