One of the things I most miss, it’s probably my after work life. I have a market nearby where I will go and buy produce every week, it was so much cheaper than at the grocery store. I would also stock with noodles and Asian products, my office it’s located in the International Distric, more concretely in Little Saigon. They sometimes have other European products, much more expensive, that remains me home and some days I treat myself .
When the weather is nice, or better said, it’s not raining , I would walk to downtown to catch my bus and probably stop at some of the local stores . One of my favorite is this Japanese store where every single thing is beautiful and so well done. It’s the perfect store to buy some presents. Last Christmas , we had the company holiday party and we were doing secret santa between the coworkers , but then the company got these gift cards for the plus one from this store. I was lucky and my plus one was my cousin who was visiting me, but she didn’t have time to spend the gift card so I kept it. After many visits to the store – I had a hard time choosing what I wanted because I loved everything , I got this hand made wood tray typical for sushi.
Another days I would meet with some friends for a happy hour in downtown or Capitol Hill, and just had some drinks and vent about work or whatever.
I’ve been here almost for a year now, and I want to be optimistic about the near future and think that soon I will be able to enjoy all these things again and truly enjoy my professional experience at JW Architects.
They told us last week that we are allowed to go back to the office, but they will have to arrange some things to follow the health protocols and of course wearing face mask all the time. I want to go back, but at the same time I’m a little concern to be around people again and contribute with the spread. I don’t know if the society will be fully back to normal until we get a vaccine or some more treatment information . All we have to do know is keep waiting ….
