There are virtual lectures, interviews, and different presentations which are taking place every week and it would be good for you to know which ones these are. You want to make sure that your architectural expertise stays sharp and ready for any upcoming challenge. So here is a list of 4 events we think you would be interested in taking part in:
1. Building with Colour: The Evolution of Colour Theory
Tuesday, June 16, 2020 | 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM BST (British Summer Time)
This is a workshop which explores colour theory and its evolution. As architects and designers, we know the impact which colour can have on human’s perception and the ability to transmit emotions. It is more than just a decoration, so if you want to learn more about this workshop led by Axalta’s Dami Babalola then don’t wait too long to sign up for it. You will have the opportunity to learn about colour psychology in relation to architecture.
2. London Festival of Architecture: With Power comes great Responsibility
Tuesday, June 16, 2020 | 20:30 AM – 22:00 EEST
Another great workshop for you to learn the role that we play in the design for a better urban environment. If you are interested in this event, you will need to fill in a one-page reflection sheet so that the group can prepare a conversation prior to the session. You will have an opportunity to reflect and discuss the urban space which surrounds us and how we as designers can respond to people’s needs.
Thursday, June 18, 2020 | 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
If you want to partake in a more fun and exciting architectural event different from a normal lecture, then this is the one for you. As you could have figured out by the name, this event is a Pictionary-style tournament in which different architects and designers will draw some of the most famous buildings and you will have to guess the name and its designers.
4. Recovering the Right to the City in Post Pandemic: What About the Public Space?
Thursday, June 18, 2020 | 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM IST
The outbreak of COVID-19 has changed the way in which we will be able to enjoy our cities in the manner that we were used to. Health measures and social distancing will remain in place for a while so its important that everyone in the architecture community gets together to discuss the potential threats and how we can make a significant turn in the right direction to improve the lives of its users. So, if this is something which interests you should know that registration is free and those guiding the seminar are experts in the field. So, don’t miss out on this opportunity!
In the meanwhile we hope you are enjoying the beginning of the summer and if you have any questions you’d like to ask the Architect-US team about the possibility of getting work experience in the USA, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team!
