Second Month: Chilling out at Tampa and Sebastian

Settled down

It has just been two months that I am here and the time flies by. Has been intense, it appears to me that a long time has been done since my arrival. In this second month, I have settled down better, for instance: I open a bank account, got my social security card and my driver’s license. As soon as all the things got right I started to enjoy more the experience.

Challenges of the month

To achieve each one of those accomplishments was not easy, but in each challenge, I have learned a lot, especially about being patient with myself. Since I am beginning from the scratch here, it takes time for to you obtain the reputation that you had before, but at the same time, it’s an opportunity to reinvent yourself and allow you to get in touch with another whole world.

After all these beginning issues, you started to chill out and enjoy it. So, lesson learned: when everything goes wrong it’s because something amazing is about to come.

Best memories

I have been to Tampa to visit a friend on Patrick’s holiday, it was awesome! We have a lot of fun together.

In some way, Tampa reminds me of the city that I came from, Sao Paulo. It’s a bigger city with another intern dynamic, a bunch of options to hang out, and touristic points to visit. Spending two days there somehow made me catch up on old times, it was really good.

One of my favorites moments was the Saint Patrick Parade, that joy that was surrounding that moment reminds me of the Brazilian carnival on another scale. The trucks paraded were throwing beads at the people in the streets. People were drunk and dancing around, it was a big opening party though the city

Two weeks later, I had the opportunity to go to my first fair with local friends at Sebastian, it was amazing to spend this time with them at this experience as well. I have only seen this kind of carnival at movies and being there, understanding its usual dynamic, and getting to know the people who work there.

Conclusion

Sometimes, I miss home, sometimes I am so glad to be here living all that. Choices involved renounces, in both ways, you gain and lose at the same time. That’s the beauty of life.

By the end of this month, I am going to move to another house permanently, I hope to stay there until the end of the journey.

I am so grateful for all I have been through to arrive here, it’s a unique opportunity and I am loving it.
