In the US, “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” is probably one of the most-sung songs in the summertime. Why? Because America’s favourite summer sport is baseball! I went to my first game last week and love it! The atmosphere was so friendly and the Kiss Cam was hilarious.
The Dodgers relocated from New York to Los Angeles in 1958. When then owner Walter O’Malley made good on his threat to move the Dodgers from Brooklyn if the city didn’t build them a new stadium in the borough. The Los Angeles Dodgers played there first few seasons in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum before the construction of Dodger Stadium was completed in time for Opening Day 1962.
Dodger Stadium is such a stunning venue to see an evening game. When the games starts, just after seven, the sun is still shining and the view over the mountains in the background is beautiful. As the game plays on (it lasts for about three hours!) the sun starts to set and the light turns a pinky golden hue.
