First month in L.A. city

Finally, after passing through a lot of processes, I finally arrived in LA! I have been to LA once in 2022 with my friends, but this time the first feeling after landing was completely different. My intention for this journey, as well as the duration.

The first shock to me is the weather! Because California, in my imagination, is warm and hot. But this time, the temperature in May makes me shake a little bit.

In the first week, I spent most of my time with groceries, bank account things, and preparing all documents. But in the second week, I tried to explore this area more. I enjoyed taking a bus around the city to see how everything was going. There’re also a lot of attractions to visit in LA, like museums, parks, and events. So I always spend my weekends exploring new areas one by one.

I like that LA is a multicultural society. There are a lot of areas where non-Americans settled down and made those areas a big hub to connect people of the same ethics, like Japan Town, China Town, or even Thai Town. You can taste a lot of different foods and ingredients from these areas too!

This time, I want to share tips on how to access some places for free. I did research about the community here, and I decided to apply for a LAPL member card (Los Angeles Public Library). The benefits are great! Except for borrowing books from the library, you can also get free access passes to some places around the city. So I really recommend it to those who currently live in LA.

The benefits include a visit to Los Angeles Zoo for free up to four people! I will definitely go there once I have more time.
