How was your holiday? Hope that they went as well as mine. It was a different Christmas for me, as you can imagine. if I had to chose one thing different from Italian Christmas and one thing equal to it these would be respectively: food and presents.
I definitively eat a lot less food and I didn’t do any dinner marathon -as we proudly do :)-But I did receive presents!
One of this was a digital tape that my super sweet director give me. this tape is excellent considering all the features and tools but what makes it wonderful to me is the in/cm button conversion. Whether you are a foreign in the United States like me on #architect-us J1 amazing program or just on your own discovering this fabulous country, you know of what I am talking about and you can feel me. I love you American but let tell me the true, that system simply does not work, it is the king of the inaccuracy. numbers and numbers plus insane fractions… please raise the white flag!
Deep inside you are aware of this issue in fact when everything goes wrong and the number are crazy, your autocad turns on: unit format DECIMAL.
Joking aside, after 4 months here my best suggestion for you is the following: let’s stop trying converting inches in centimeters and centimeters in inches…this takes you nowhere. let’s act like a child that is about to learn size and measures of thing and learn sizing your «new» world in inches and feet. Your mind needs to act like a switch: metric mode/ imperial mode. When you are on one whatever mode you must forget about the other! Only in this way you can survive… believe me.
