Surprise Trip

December 2022, one year ago I landed on the Island of Enchantment. I started a dream that I had been pursuing for some time and the adventure has finally begun.

First of all, I would like to take stock of these 12 months in Puerto Rico working for MARVEL. I never imagined that I would be so comfortable in this architecture firm. I am delighted with the people who make up this firm. They have welcomed me and made my life easier.

They have also helped me in everything I needed. If there is one word that is repeated in this office by all the employees, it is «family». That is what this company is all about. They don’t leave you behind, they help you and push you to grow and advance as an architect. I should also mention that I already have several Boricua words coming out of my mouth without realizing it LOL.

To continue, I would like to highlight the growth that I have had this year. Not only in the use of programs like Revit or rendering programs, but also in the theoretical and normative level of the United States. I have worked on several projects during this time, helped during small periods of time in others, and all very different from each other. Right now I am in 50% DD in the Hotel that is being rehabilitated in Old San Juan. The construction phase will coincide with the end of my visa in the USA.

Furthermore, the island at Christmas time has a special atmosphere. The weather is really good, the atmosphere in the streets is very festive, and the desire to party on the island is enormous. It is a different kind of Christmas, the longest in the world, as it starts on the 1st of November and ends at the beginning of February.

Finally, I am escaping to Spain for a few days to visit my family for Christmas. The most exciting thing was that no one knew about it and I showed up for lunch on the 25th of December at the restaurant where all my family was. It was very exciting.
