Architecture of Nature

During the past month I had the occasion to fly to Vegas and Grand Canyon to see two of the the craziest and most beautiful places of America.

The flight from Houston to Vegas was just three hours and we arrived at night, so that driving through the street of the city all lighted up has been an incredible experience. The main streets of the city are surrounded by large buildings and hotels where the flair of the architects is clearly visible in each of them. You can move from the Egyptian pyramids to the Venitian San Marco Square in just a few steps. Artificial streams and tall roller coasters run through the hotels, bringing the visitor to be continually surprised. Each Hotel of the city has the ground floor entirely dedicated to reproduce the spirit of the place that represents, so that entering in the Paris Hotel (where we spent the night) means to walk through the small French alley of the city, surrounded by Art nouveau street lamp and buildings. The artificial blue sky painted on the ceiling makes it look like it’s always sunset time and peolple inside of this space have lost the sense of time and can’t stop gambling. It has been a really suggestive city that every architect should visit. Is foolishness, is the unbelievable.

Our trip continued on the way of the Grand Canyon. The nature had become the protagonist of the next six days. desert plains, deep valleys, a very dry weather had been our travel mates. We saw places that we will never forget. we did long walks, we went horse riding, we slept in a tent in the middle of nowhere.

I really have to thank Architect-US for this amazing experience!
