new chapter in the USA

Everyday Is A New Chapter in the USA

Every day is a new chapter in the USA.

I’ve always got a thing for sunsets. There is this symbolism of it that gives people hope and reminds them that there is always something new to look forward to every day. It’s like a comma, letting people know that whatever they may have been feeling the whole day, whether it was a good or bad one, the sunset is a reminder that it is not the end of anything in our lives.

I’ve been in New York for almost three months now and I could say, you cannot convince yourself every time that everything will be okay. Culture shock, homesickness, and many others will sometimes or most of the times pave its way into you. It’s part of the new chapter in our lives as we leave our home and family behind to experience and get an in-depth knowledge of what is outside our comfort zones. It is a nerve-wracking experience. Especially being in a place where you don’t know anybody and use a language you are not that yet used to. It’s frightening to look forward to every day because we are afraid to make mistakes and not knowing if people will give you an inch of a slack if you made one.

The thing is, every day is a new chapter in the USA. You could have been struggling to make yesterday a very good one but fate won’t let it happen. By the end of the day, you are trying your best to convince yourself that tomorrow will be better and that’s good. Even if it’s hard. It will be better. There will always be days like that. But it is really important to look forward to every morning, the sunset will help you remind that it’s okay. If you make mistakes today, tomorrow is another day. You will get used to the fact that life is not a constant happy trip. But you always have a choice to look positive and be reminded that every day is a new chapter to look forward to. You can always make tomorrow a better one than yesterday.
