A DAY AT THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART

Get ready to spend a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art browsing over 5,000 pieces of artwork. From sculptures, paintings, and multisensory exhibitions, The Met Fifth Avenue is worth the visit.

General admission is $25 for a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but New York residents and students make a voluntary contribution of their choice. I was lucky that Beyer Blinder Belle, my host company, holds a corporate membership which allows its employees to visit the museum for free.

I particularly enjoyed the Public Parks, Private Gardens Exhibition from Paris to Provence, which illustrates the importance of public spaces in France in the mid-18th century. The exhibition features original works from Henri Matisse to Claude Monet and original master plan drawings from the most iconic parks in France.

Head upstairs to The Met’s roof garden. It is a beautiful place to grab a drink and enjoy the stunning views of Central Park and The City. The roof currently features a massive art sculpture installation titled We Come in Peace by Huma Bhabha. Bhabha’s work reflects themes of war, displacement, and waste.

Spend a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must-see of the NYC experience and there are always interesting exhibitions to explore. Totally recommended!
