Wicked

It was the first Broadway show I’ve even been to and I was ready to love it, but it even exceed my expectations.

For those who are aren’t familiar with Wicked it is a prequel to The Wizard of OZ and goes through the story of how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. The plot is set before Dorothy’s arrival from Kansas, and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a backstory.

Without spoiling to much, the production gives just enough nods from The Wizard of Oz to make you enjoy your walk down memory lane. The set pieces from around the land of Oz were interesting, fresh and never overstayed their welcome. Also, if you enjoy the set and costumes aspects of musicals, you won’t be disappointed here.

The overall experience was amazing. Everything, from the sound, the theater, the staging, to the orchestra and the cast, absolutely everything was flawless. I cannot recommend enough for people to go.
