Indian architect Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi has been named the 2018 winner of the Pritzker Prize, architecture’s most illustrious award. The Pritzker is awarded to honor architects whose built work demonstrates a combination of those qualities of talent, vision and commitment.
He is one of India’s most influential 20th century architects and the 45th recipient of this Prize. Doshi is the first Indian architect to be awarded the Pritzker Prize.
