Earlier this month of August, one of the last buildings built by my office, S9 Architecture, the Empire Stores building next to the Brooklyn Bridge has been inaugurated.
In my particular opinion, I think that this building tries in a succesful way to incorporate the urban life inside the building. There are no limits between the private and the public life. Perhaps, this is the great success of the building as well as the existing relationship between the contemporary and the existing condition.
A sequence of public spaces that are linked until arriving to the great public square that is located on top of the building as a rooftop that establishes a vision with the skyline of Manhattan.
Undoubtedly, this building should be a mandatory stop for anyone who is in the city.
