Volcano Bay: Water park experience

It is is themed as a Hawaiian island, and they nailed in every little detail, the music, the vegetation, landscaping, shops, Cabanas, etc.

This past weekend I had the chance to make a short trip to Orlando, to visit my colleagues and friends at RVJA. Of course I couldn’t miss exploring Universal Studios‘ latest innovation: the Volcano Bay Water Park. This park just opened two months ago, and as expected, it was extremely crowded and getting inside was quite a challenge, since you need to be at the entrance by 9am, before it reaches it maximum occupancy.

It is is themed as a Hawaiian island, and they nailed in every little detail, the music, the vegetation, landscaping, shops, Cabanas, etc. Also, all the rides have Maori names, which is very original , but can get confusing to remember which one you are actually interested in riding! What I can highlight about this park is the innovative system they have for the queues: they give you a digital watch at the entrance that you use to tap on the ride system and get you into the line, without being there waiting under the sun for two hours. The watch has a timer were you can check when it’s  your turn to ride and meanwhile wait at the lazy river or the wave pool.

Overall it was a great experience and would recommend it, just keep in mind the organization is not functioning at 100% yet, but it will get soon!
