After 9 months of rain, there comes the sun. After being under rain and ice since I moved to Portland, I was skeptical to think we actually have sunny summers.
During summer which officially starts after July 4th in Portland, not only the flowers but the whole city blooms. To make up for winter time, we have over 14 hours of daylight making summer time just great.
The streets are always full of people and the festivals are one of a kind. Summer time is a great time to explore nature in and around Portland and attend one of the many flower festivals around the state. Unfortunately is also the time for many fires in the region, due to the lack of rain.
