Spanish Architect David Romero has digitally recreated some of the most iconic buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, father of the modern american architecture.
Using software programs such as Autocad, 3dsMax, Vray, PhotoShop and a lot of time and dedication (even the lightning, textures and furnitures are recreated in full color), Romero resurrected through renderings three works of Frank Lloyd Wright: Trinity Chapel in Norman, Oklahoma (1958); Larkin Administration Building (1903-1950) and Rose Pauson House (1939-1943). The Larkin Administration Building was demolished and the Rose Pauson House is in ruins and forgotten. The Trinity Chapel was never built.
This meticulous work made by Romero (who obtained architectural skecthes and plans, as well as the few prevailing black-and-white photographs of the buildings) is part of his project Hooked on the past, a vindication of the importance of the past in the architecture industry, which often focuses on the future. A field (the architectural past) that David Romero thinks is still widely unexplored, but full of potential.
Below, a few images of the buildings. We encourage a visit to Romero’s Flickr to view more pictures and, in that way, have a trip to the past.
