Thanksgiving!

Two weeks ago was Thanksgiving holiday. It was a special day with a lot of friends, but it wasn’t a really American holiday because the majority of us were Spanish.

The dinner was at my home. My roommates and me prepared the house for the day cooking a lot of typical dishes and all our friends came with more and more food. It was a great day.

The day began having a toast near home. It was incredible seeing the streets totally empty; no cars, no people… It felt really strange in the crowded streets of Manhattan.

After that, all of us went to home and we began to eat and drink. There was so much food, so I have food in my fridge for some days (lucky for me!!!). The previous night some friends which are living in other cities of USA arrived and we spent the night talking, drinking and cooking some dishes for Thanksgiving. I prepared my first meatballs with cranberry sauce and they were really tasty for my surprise, hehe. Of course, the main dish, the turkey was there. My old roommates cooked it and came with it to my home. All the people worked hard, I should say. They brought a lot of typical food; mash potatoes, mac&cheese, vegetables, the pumpkin cake and as Spanish people also oysters and paella. These last dishes are no so American, but we were so exciting for our Spanish food.

It was a perfect day. It wasn’t the typical Thanksgiving with American people, but I think we got the idea of the day; having a good time with friends and enjoy all together 🙂
