Island Paradise

Many people overlook the fact that Manhattan it is indeed an island.

It is also curious to think that Brooklyn and Queens are located in another one, Long Island. In addition of these two, there are other famous islands around the City. I am sure you have heard of Ellis Island. Ellis is famous for being the gateway for over 12 million immigrants to the United States as the nation’s busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 until 1954. Another of these NY islands will be, of course, Liberty Island, best known as the location of the Statue of Liberty. Not so famous as Liberty or Ellis Island, but still an island it is Governors island. However, probably the most curious of all of them will be Governors island. Roosevelt Island is a narrow island in New York City’s East River. It is located between Manhattan and Queens, runs from the equivalent of East 46th to 85th St, more or less 3.2 km long. People actually lives in here. It is a huge contrast, away for the hustle and bustle of the city. But the best part of Roosevelt Island it is how to get there. You can ride the trolley that connect Manhattan and Queens, which have a stop in the middle of theNew York City’s East Rivere. Using your MTA pass you can enjoy its amazing views. A great plan for a pinic on a summer day!!!
