The Miller Hull Partnership and Woods Bagot have completed the expansion of Terminal C at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, introducing a large timber-clad “tree” as the central feature of the new gathering space. The project forms part of Upgrade SEA, the Port of Seattle’s initiative to modernize the airport.
The expansion more than doubles the size of the existing buildings, adding four new floors and taking the form of a wedge-shaped structure with a gently sloped roof fitted with photovoltaic panels. Its undulating glass façade uses electrochromic glass to reduce glare while maximizing natural light.
