Snøhetta is nearing completion of Ford’s new interconnected headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, within the company’s Research and Engineering Campus. The four-story Central Campus Building is organized around hexagonal courtyards and combines glazed volumes with cedar ceilings, creating connected, open workspaces that encourage collaboration between teams.
The frit glass façade, developed in collaboration with Ford, adapts to solar incidence and unfolds in a scalloped envelope that projects beyond the building’s footprint. Conceived as part of Snøhetta’s master plan for the headquarters, this new complex will replace the historic Glass House and embraces a more permeable architecture, with multiple connections, overlapping spaces, and a continuous relationship between interior, landscape, and campus.
