As the year comes to a close, I reflect on what an incredible 2024 fiscal year it has been at ASGG. Over the past seven months, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most talented architects and designers in the industry. This experience has been immensely rewarding, helping me grow both professionally and personally. As we approached the holiday season, the office was a hive of activity, especially as we prepared for a major schematic design deadline. I was fortunate to contribute to the exterior and interior architecture of two buildings. My December responsibilities included façade design, an immersive history pavilion, solar panel studies, and drafting. Each task was both challenging and fulfilling, enabling me to refine my skills and deepen my understanding of complex design processes. The holiday spirit came alive in the office with a festive ornament decorating contest. This fun event brought everyone together, sparking creativity and camaraderie during a busy time. It was heartwarming to see colleagues’ inventive designs and share in the cheerful atmosphere. To celebrate the end of 2024, the office hosted a memorable dinner boat cruise along the Chicago waterfront. This three-hour event offered breathtaking views of the city skyline from the water, creating a truly special experience. The evening was filled with laughter, delicious food, and meaningful conversations. Spending time with colleagues in such a unique setting was the perfect way to reflect on our collective achievements and embrace the excitement of a new year. As I wrap up this chapter, I feel deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at ASGG. From working on impactful projects to building lasting relationships with colleagues, this year has been a defining period in my journey as a designer. I look forward to carrying these experiences into the future and am excited for what 2025 has in store.
