New longhouse created in Oklahoma by Far + Dang

Tucked away on a wooded site, the project called Linear Cabin in the Woods has been created by U.S. architecture firm Far + Dang. The studio conceived a long, low cabin that stretches 44 meters (145 feet) across a clearing in the woods. The exterior walls and ceilings were clad in black metal, with warm-toned Brazilian cumaru wood applied in select areas. The dark color helps the cabin «hide within the forest,» especially when viewed from a distance, according to the study.
