I have just arrived in Corpus Christi, Texas, for my internship here which starts in two weeks. In my first blog post I will write about myself, my experience with receiving a J1 visa, and my expectations for the next three months.
My name is Jens Jonatan (25), and I was born and raised in Bergen, Norway. After high school I worked in the restaurant business for several years before i finally started my studies. At first I moved to Oslo where I studied Business Economy for one year before i moved to Budapest, Hungary, to start my bachelor in Business and Diplomacy Studies. I am currently starting my fifth semester, where I will be having an internship in Texas whilst writing my bachelor.
During the last couple of months I have been going through the J1 Visa prossess. There are quite a lot of paperwork, but with good help and guidance from Architect, and especially from Sonia, everything went smoothly.
It is always exciting to move to a new country, especially the US because it is quite far from Norway. Even though I have been to the US multiple times before, it feels different when you are going to live here for more than three months. I have a lot of expectations for the time living in Texas, I am excited to learn a new working culture as well as exploring Texas and the US in even more depth than when visiting as a tourist.
I am looking forward to filling you in in the next couple of months.
