Hello everyone,
I’m Carlo, a young Italian Architect, I studied at the Faculty of Architecture of Palermo (Sicily) where I graduated in 2019. After my graduation I gain some professional experience in Spain and Italy, working in several studios.
All this journey started when my girlfriend Gloria won a scholarship to work in the United States, exactly New York City. I didn’t think a lot about what to do. I just decided to follow her, starting this new adventure in the United States!
There was a big obstacle to my plans, I had to deal with all the paperwork, documents, Visa, and finding a Job in the US. Thanks to my perseverance and the help of Architects-US I achieved this goal. After a really hard and stressful research (lasting a few months) I was almost to give up but at the end of November 2022, Ian (my future boss) from WAU (Wathcorn Architecture & Urbanism) answered my Job inquiry email, asking me for an interview. Everything went well and he offered me a job position. I immediately contacted Sonia (my mentor) and immediately she started all the required paperwork to start the process. She was always present and available for any doubts I had, I couldn’t imagine dealing with all the paperwork without Architects-US. Just after my interview with the sponsor and the site Visit to my future workspace, I scheduled my embassy interview in Milan. One exact month after when my process started, I’m happy to confirm that I receive My Visa and all the needed paperwork to travel to the US!!
Now here we are…
packaging, saying goodbye to friends and family, and getting ready for my passport and documents…
I’m really excited and ready to start this new chapter of my life It will be a really good journey that will keep me busy for the next last 18 months, looking forward to starting!
