Dovecote-inspired study in sonoma

‘Mourning Dovecote’, designed as an additional 36m2 studio in the Sonoma home, takes inspiration from the traditional ‘dovecote’ often built at the ends of houses or barns. The program of the project is the coexistence of people with their natural environments. More than a naturalist’s interest in bird watching, nesting boxes encourage the experience of their cooing up close to the eye. In essence, the project assumes a balanced, equitable and respectful relationship with the natural environment.
