The technology company Google is in negotiations to buy the James R Thompson Center designed by Helmut Jahn in Chicago. Google plans to buy the 17-story postmodern building in downtown Chicago as office space for its growing city-based team, according to real estate publication CoStar Group. Although the tech company has not confirmed the reports, it did reveal that it planned to expand its presence in Chicago.
