A floating park and theater on the Hudson

The Hudson River has a new park and performance venue thanks to British designer Thomas Heatherwick, who with 132 concrete columns has given Little Island the green light. The project, now inaugurated, is a 2.4-acre park that connects to the mainland through two bridges and is made up of mushroom-shaped columns made of concrete that are placed at different levels to create an undulating platform.
