A change with glory

The Mall in Central Park is near empty as people remain at home to stop the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic on March 31, 2020 in New York City.

Life goes by and you realize that many things change along the way, Manhattan is one of them.

It has always been said that a crisis changes people and things, well, the pandemic has made Manhattan change too. In general terms for the worse, but if you scratch a little, we have stayed or the fighters have returned.

Never. I think I will never forget the moment of leaving Manhattan when the pandemic was beginning, because I did not know how or when I was going to return, borders were closed, people were isolated, and I could not stop crying in the taxi on the way to the airport. I couldn’t say goodbye to anyone, just like many others whose experiences ceased to exist.

You can’t explain the feeling of coming back after the pandemic has taken away your experience after those friends and co-workers had to lock themselves up and your lifestyle changed because you had to go back to your country. it can come back, but covid took away your lifestyle, your job, and your non-blood family. Everything happens for a reason, EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR SOMETHING, I tell myself. And that little voice, the will and architect us, make the return possible.

Now it’s time to start over from scratch, it’s time to recover, it’s time to bring out the Marta who was here a year ago when covid 19 did not exist and it’s time to re-create experiences that serve as memories. No one can ever explain to you what it feels like when you see your whole experience fall apart, but what you will find later is worth it.

All crises are necessary, and perhaps this one was necessary for Manhattan, even if it is not seen we will recover… the city will recover and everything will NOT be as before, if not better, much better, because everything, absolutely everything is FOR RIGHT. There is no change without suffering, and there is no suffering without glory. Meanwhile we are going to continue making this city the city that never sleeps.
