What’s the best thing to do in a heat wave? Go to the desert you say? Well no one ever said that, but that’s what we did. When my parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago I wanted to show them as many different aspects to California’s landscape as I could. Joshua Tree is such an unusual place that I really wanted to explore it with them. The weekend we booked to go however, it was 110 F (C) so pretty hot! It meant we couldn’t go on as many hikes as we planned, but it did give us an excuse to drive around more and not feel guilty about being to lazy.
I was totally blown away by how beautiful Joshua Tree was. The trees and rock formations are so unusual, you really feel like you are visiting another world. We had a great time, but it was defiantly too hot. I’ve already planning a return trip for the autumn though, when the weather is a bit cooler.
