May I leave the U.S. and re-enter during the Grace Period?

It is not recommended to leave and re-enter the U.S. during the Grace Period taking into consideration that your J1 Visa status will no longer be valid and you may not be permitted entry. The aim of the 30-day Grace Period after your Program End Date is to give you time to prepare yourself for returning to your home country.
