A 20-square-metre wooden island with a linden tree at its centre is floating in in Copenhagen harbour.
The prototype is designed by Australian architect Marshall Blecher and Magnus Maarbjerg from Danish design studio Fokstrot for a project called Copenhagen Islands
It is a simple and iconic metaphor for an uninhabited island and represents the first taste of a completely new type of public space. During winter and for special events or festivals, the spaces can be brought together, creating a cluster more easily accessed from the harbour side.
