Hi everyone!
As it might have happened to most of my fellow Architect-USs, this was my first Thanksgiving celebration since I came to the USA.
This is a very special tradition for Americans because they gather with friends and family for dinner to give thanks for all the good things that they have in life. They usually cook roasted turkey and it is usually served with corn or mashed potatoes among others as it is believed that American and Europeans used to do.
For this special holiday, my friend and co-worker Lizza invited me to stay with her and her family at their place in Manassas (Virginia) which is just 5 hours away from East Rutherford. Lizza and I decided to design the table decorations and we spent most of the time getting the right ornaments and putting them together.
The main centerpiece came out looking really nice and professional! We gathered for dinner 9 people and since it was held at Lizza’s, all the guests brought something for the table. Before starting to eat, Lizza’s parents gave thanks to everyone for coming and for all the good things that they had in life (good health, a great family…).
It was a wonderful experience and what can I say, it is always nice to be thankful (at least once a year!)
