Grace Farms

Really close to Philip Johnson’s glass house, in New Canaan, Conecticut, there is another architectural landmark worth visiting.

The Grace Farms is a building designed by SANAA and run by the Grace Foundation. This multipurpose building is seamless integrated into 80 acres of open space for people to experience nature.

This former horse farm was acquired by 50 families in the area. Japanese architecture studio, SANAA, was hired to design the space. SANAA’s goal was to make the architecture of the River become part of the landscape without drawing attention to itself, or even feeling like a building. With five closed glass volumes under a continuous roof the building fades away in the landscape.
