I’ve been working now at Gilsanz, Murray and Steficek, GMS, three months as part of Architect-US Career Training Program and I can say the overall experience is very positive; people are nice and take care of me. I feel in good hands here.
We are about 90 people in three floors in a 1900 building in Manhattan. Two types of people predominate in the company: the veterans and the young employees. The veterans teach and help young people as much as they can. Some people started working in the last two months, so we are a varied team.
We work on building envelope and accompain the process from it’s concept design to the final construction. We get projects from several architectural offices and our work is really interesting and dynamic. Everything is technical and constructive stuff, so I’m learning constantly. However, I miss design architecture and I hope to do it again in the future.
