The American firms KoningEizenberg Architecture and NAC Architecture have opted for concrete and metal in the design of a public secondary school that meets both environmental criteria and a non-traditional educational model. The building is located in Malibu, on a 2.3-hectare plot between the Pacific coast and the Santa Monica Mountains, in an area that is home to a nature reserve and other educational facilities. The new complex replaces a nondescript 1950s school and serves approximately 525 students, as well as teachers and support staff.
