Kéré Architecture unveils redesign of Las Vegas Art Museum

The Las Vegas Art Museum has released new images of its future headquarters in Symphony Park, a project designed by Kéré Architecture in collaboration with SOM. The building, conceived to be built on top of a former parking lot, takes its cue from the desert landscape and certain codes of local modernity, with a striking and recognizable presence on the downtown skyline.

The visualizations show a trapezoidal volume clad with diamond-shaped pieces, planned to be made of locally sourced stone. Inside, the base incorporates a large circular element that organizes a main staircase, while the crown features a large lattice roof, designed to filter light and reinforce the connection with the Red Rock Mountains and the Mojave environment.
